Jivamukti Yoga Workshop with Sharon Price – hosted by Fusion Yoga Studio

Posted

Jivamukti Yoga is a path to enlightenment through compassion for all beings. The Jivamukti method is grounded in the original meaning of the Sanskrit word asana as “seat or connection” or relationship to the Earth. Earth in this sense implies all of life. Citing Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra, which states that asana should be sthira and sukham, Jivamukti Yoga maintains that one’s relationship to others (asana) should be mutually beneficial and come from a consistent (sthira) place of joy and happiness (sukham).

This workshop will offer a dynamic and vigorous yoga asana with meditation, yoga philosophy, compassionate living, and great music! It will integrate all the components of classical yoga in a challenging, fun, uplifting practice.

The workshop is open to all who have some experience of vinyasa style classes and are in good health. Not suitable for beginners

Restorative Yoga and Meditation

Posted

Restorative yoga prioritises stillness, relaxation, and a calmer state of mind. By incorporating props like yoga blocks, bolsters, blankets, and straps to support and align the body, restorative poses allow the body to fully relax in each posture (so no straining to lift and hold the body in the pose).

Mudras are symbolic and meaningful gestures. Hasta Mudra (hand gesture) is a method of citta-bhavana, or cultivating a specific state of mind. There are many mudras, and each represents a certain quality, such as compassion, courage, or wisdom. It is believed that by practising mudra you awaken the seeds of these states within you. This workshop will explore the variety of mudras using hands, eyes and body and integrate these mudras into our yoga asana. Let’s discover the power of mudras for cultivating inner peace, courage, and confidence.
